About Andy Devine Days
The town of Kingman has an explosion of fun every September during Andy Devine Days with a parade, car show, street dance, contests, food, rodeo performances and a whole mess of fun!
Andy Devine Days began with the Andy Devine Day Parade and festivities in 1970, celebrating Kingman’s western heritage and Andy Devine, a western character actor from Kingman who starred on television shows and movies with the likes of John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart and Guy Madison.
In 1985, a PRCA sanction Turquoise Series rodeo was added to restore some of the spirit of Kingman’s Western history. The two day rodeo takes place the final qualifying weekend for cowboys to earn points toward the NFR (National Finals Rodeo) in Las Vegas. Every year it draws serious bronc and bull riders!
Then in 2015, Kingman began hosting the Andy Devine Days Festival. Originally called the Best of the West on Route 66 Fest, the schedule includes a parade, vendors, live entertainment, car show, human strength tractor pull contest, rock climbing wall, large water slides, euro bungee stations, mechanical bull rides, kiddie obstacle course, art show, and much more! It’s Kingman's largest street festival and continues to be very different from any other event hosted in Kingman!
About the Rodeo
The Andy Devine Days Rodeo is held at the Mohave County Fairgrounds the last full weekend in September. Cowboys compete in Saddleback and Bareback Bronc Riding, Calf Roping, Steer Wrestling, Bull Riding and Team Roping - all PRCA sanctioned events.
The schedule also includes Women’s Barrel Racing and Junior Barrel Racing, which are WPRA sanctioned, and classic rodeo entertainment such as professional rodeo clowns and a calf dressing competition. Of course, the rodeo fun includes amateur events such as calf dressing, muttin' bustin' and steer riding.
It's held the last weekend for rodeo contestants to qualify for NFR (Nation Finals Rodeo) held in Las Vages. So even though the Andy Devine Days Rodeo is a smaller rodeo, it pulls in many talented bronc and bull riding cowboys. And with the arena placed right up at the grandstands, spectators get a fantastic view of the action!
On Friday, the Kingsmen host the VIP 100 Club Dance at the Fairgrounds. Starting at 6pm. Purchase the 100 Club Pack ($125 per couple) for a night of music, auctions, food, an open bar and a chance to meet some of the rodeo performers. You'll also get four exclusive VIP rodeo seating. 100 Club Packs will be available at Martin Swanty Dodge and TicketForce.com.
The Saturday evening performance kicks off at 6pm, continuing until around 9 in the evening. Immediately following is an old fashioned barn dance in the main building near the grand stands, with live music and a bar.
Leading up to the Rodeo, tickets are made available at the City of Kingman Visitor Center (located in the Powerhouse), at the Boot Barn, Mohave State Bank on Stockton Hill Road, Stockton Hill Feed, Martin Swanty Dodge, and at all of the Western Week events leading up to the Rodeo. Check back for 2018 Rodeo ticket pricing.

More About The Festival
The Any Devine Days Festival was born to carry on the success of the 2014 International Route 66 Festival, hosted in Kingman. But the Festival committee wanted to host an event unlike anything else in Kingman, and that’s when they came up with a grand scheme - a smorgasbord of parading, live music, car shows, water sliding, bull riding, rock wall climbing, and tractor pulling fun!
Things kick off a free street dance and live band on Friday night. Kids of all ages look forward to the Free Fun Zones brought downtown on Friday evening and all day Saturday. Fun Zones generally include Euro-Bungees, Monster Slides, a 25 foot Rock Climbing Wall, kiddy obstacle courses, jump houses for the toddlers, and Mechanical Bull Rides. So if you got a hankering to try your luck on the back if a bucking bull, up a mountain or down a slide – and we kinda thought you might – head on over for the free Fun Zones!
Every year, our line-up includes the popular Tractor Supply Co Human Strength Tractor Pull Competition. The competition consists of teams of five displaying brute strength to pull a tractor down Beale Street. So, do you want to show some muscles, or see some in action? We’re looking for teams and there’s always plenty of space for hundreds of spectators!
The Festival is a great place to go for street tacos, shaved ice, fry bread, kettle corn, Chicago style dogs and a whole lot more! It's also where you're sure to find Route 66 art and other unique South West offerings along Vendor Row.
Saturday also includes a parade, classic Car Show on Beale Street, and Hot Wheels Drag Races.
